Friends of the King D. Carlos Sea Museum

Who are we?
We are civic association, founded in 1987 by a group of citizens interested in promoting the image of the Museum, and we have maintained a close relationship with the institution ever since.
In its 47th Article, Portuguese Museum Law defends the constitution and support of associations of friends of museums as well as the stimulation of other forms of systematic collaboration involving the community and the visiting public.
GAMM is a member of the Federation of the Friends of Portuguese Museums (FAMP) and of the World Federation Friends of Museums (WWFM).

Why should I join?
By joining the GAMM you are contributing and participating in the development of the cultural, scientific and social events of the museum, acting as a promoter and a facilitator between the scientific community and society at large. For a strategic development of the King D. Carlos Sea Museum it is essential to establish partnerships with third-party entities, preferably with the aim of promoting and enhancing the museum, namely through the encouragement of patronage and volunteering protocols.
Your contribution can be important for a better preservation and enrichment of the museum collection, for volunteer participation and for the creation of several initiatives – colloquia, courses, and visits in Portugal and abroad.

To become a Friend, download the registration form and send it with a cheque endorsed to the Grupo de Amigos do Museu do Mar. Alternatively you can pay via bank transfer. The annual fee is €15.
